Home Improvement on a Budget

Home improvement need not always drain your bank account. Having moved into my apartment just last July 2 and was having a headache with the DHL delivery (our box was a month and a half delayed) I needed to make an unexpected shopping run to buy some basics for our apartment. I needed just enough to survive till our much awaited linens, cutlery and utensils from the Philippines (all of which were divine quality since they were all practically gifts from our wedding). I was already on my way to Walmart at Wanda Plaza Wujiaochang (given they were famous for bargains) when I discovered a hidden gem right below called Enjoy Easy.

It was thrilling to find “IKEA-looking finds” at very budget-friendly prices (take a look at the pictures for some examples. You can literally spend hours just looking through their different things for the home that are literally almost all below 30RMB. Mugs, plates, cute coasters, jars, buckets, storage boxes, cooking utensils hooks... You name it, they probably have it.

The store reminds me of a favorite store we have back home called Japan Home where you can buy everything for only 88 PhP (12RMB for your reference). For the American Dolls perhaps like the Dollar store! What tops it all off is they have pretty good customer service. When one of the staff members saw I was carrying a heavy basket of things already, she offered to carry it to the counter and gave me a new basket to continue my guilt-free home shopping spree. Wow! For a store selling things at amazing value-for money prices, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It goes to show that service is not always based on what you pay for. You can actually find places like these that will make you feel more at home with your Shanghai adventure.

So for our money-savvy dolls why not pay a visit to your nearest Enjoy Easy shop? You can always use your cash for other awesome things you can spend it on in Shanghai - like a much needed massage, manicure or a new hobby like kick boxing (Woot! Eye of the tiger song enter here ), or even a vacation or on a Dolls Weekend Brunch.

Sorry for the delay! :) I had to get my shanghainese friend to translate the business card! :) For those who live in my area (Wujiaochang) Make your way to 11 Songhu road Wanda Plaza square. 1st floor below Walmart. (Take line 10 into Balian mall then just use the egg underpass to get to Wanda) For those who live downtown, therre is onle on 818 West Nanjing Road near Shimen Yi Road, Jingan district! :)ENJOY EASY! :) My latest buys were a cute black wall clock for 30qi, small screwdrivers for 10 qi, and of course the trusty adhesive wall hooks 5 qi for 3 pcs! :) They also have wall stencil stickers :)

I recently discovered Enjoy Easy too! It's just simple stuff but I like it. You can buy some cute gifts there too and they also have some imported cookies and drinks. The weird Japanese stuff is fun too.
