As children, we loved escaping down the long rabbit hole of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and falling into a whimsical fairytale full of possibilities. And as adults, we are still in love with the peculiar characters that overtake our dreams.
Today Tim Burton's 3-D film Alice in Wonderland hits Shanghai cinemas. One thing about the movie that everyone is talking about is the fashion. Last weekend, I saw a sneak peek of the new Alice in Wonderland and I loved it! Especially the cool fashion and outrageous makeup. Thanks to Tim Burton Alice mania is in full force. Today I want to bring you Alice-inspired jewelry and beauty products. in my next post I will cover some Alice like fashion trends.
Movie-related merchandise is usually more scary than stylish, but Disney has upped the ante by asking the jeweler Tom Binns to create special designs inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Each one is based on an event or character, including the Mad Hatter (played by Johnny Depp), the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) and Binns’s favorite, the evil Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter).

Stella McCartney followed in the footsteps of Tom Binns. She has created a cheeky Alice necklace and bracelet; the chains are adorned with charms like a rabbit, a Mad Hatter’s hat, a spade, club, heart and diamond. Each charm is done in her signature muted palette with pearl and Swarovski crystal details.

Swarowski also joined a tea party introducing their Underland spring-summer collection. And by the looks of things, we can expect some truly gorgeous trinkets from the crystals brand and all in the very reasonable price range of $80 to $150. The collection is said to consist of 17 pieces, including necklaces, earrings, rings and pendants, referencing all sorts of Alice in Wonderland imagery. They've clocked a number of these stunning charms, such as cotton reels and scissors, hearts and clubs and bunny and pocket watch and think the collection promises to be sparkly picnic of precious pieces.

Urban Decay really know how to treat us! This incredible 16-colour make-up palette features all of the brand's best-selling shades, rebadged with Alice-inspired names as well as two eye pencils and an eyeshadow primer. Open it up, gaze at the pop-up Alice in Wonderland scene and enter the magical world of Alice...
The first batch of Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows palettes sold out in a matter of hours! Fortunately, Urban Decay has been rolling out more shipments so eager fans like me can still get a hold of this one-of-a-kind collection. I have signed up for the email update on Urban Decay's website. I really want that masterpiece, expecially that the price is only $52.

I'm loving Paul & Joe’s Alice in Wonderland beauty collection, the packaging is so cute! The collection consists of limited edition tins containing Blotting Paper with mirror for shine control and refills, Lip Treatment in Sweet Milky Pink called Fantasy (pink set) and Sheer Orange called Daydream (blue set), that adds a hint of color and shine while conditioning dry lips. All designs come with original Disney drawings. This limited edition can be bought at asos.com (they deliver to China in 11 days for nearlt 115 RMB).

OPI created four limited-edition nail lacquer shades inspired by the movie. The colors includes: Off with Her Red! (A glowering, empowering hot red), Absolutely Alice (An absolutely amazing blue glitter), Mad as a Hatter (A madly marvelous black-multi glitter) and Thanks So Muchness! (For this “must-have” red shimmer). I can't wait to try Off with Her Red! Have anyone seen these shades in the nail places around the town?

P.S: Doing research for this post I discovered Helena Bonham Carter, who plays the Red Queen, is married to Tim Burton who is the director. And that Tim Burton was friends with the late Alexander McQueen. Both of these I find interesting.
