There are so many “off the shelf” detox kits these days that it makes it hard to know what to choose from! I should go back a few paces first – Detox? What is a detox, well it is a way to rid your body of excess toxins that we may be carrying from all the processed food that we eat and drink and antibiotics that we take. There are different schools of thought on doing a detox for your body with one being that the whole thing is a way for companies to make money and if you just ate what you were supposed to, i.e. a healthy diet, then you should be fine and would never need to do a detox. The other school of thought is that there are great benefits from doing this one or twice a year and it is a fantastic thing that you can do for your overall health.
I am not going to argue one side or the other if you want to get an abundance of information about both arguments you can just look it up on Google. I just wanted to give you first-hand information on what actually happens when you do one of these, because I have just starting one! In the end I opted for the 21-day Internal Cleansing Kit from Blessed Herbs for two reasons, one being that there were loads of raving reviews about it on the market and that they don’t only do one part of the body they do it all! Actually, come to think of it there are three reasons with the third being that when you purchase the 21-day detox kit you get the 5-day colon cleanse detox for free!

So this detox if done completely will take you 30 days, starting with a colon cleanse and then moving onto Liver, Gallbladder and Parasite Cleansing. After that you move onto your Lungs, Kidneys and Bladder and the final step is your Lymph system, Blood and Skin. So you can see it really does cover everything and if it works you should be feeling and looking absolutely fantastic in just one month!
This detox like all of them on the market has different options on how you can complete them ranging from a good option, to a better option and then to the best option. Each product will be different and I can only comment on the one I am doing and the option that I am doing and that, of course, is the best option! When you have one of those personalities that doesn’t let you do things in halves then there really is no choice, but to choose the best option.
I am now up to day three of the colon cleanse, which entails five days of not eating! Yep, I said not eating… I know that sounds ridiculous for a lot of people and I myself thought I would never be able to do it, but I have surprised myself. I have not really been that hungry and the hardest part of not eating is not actually the hunger, but the eating itself as in flavours! Another thing that has surprised me is that I thought I would lose a lot of weight, but I haven’t lost any. Your day on the best options consists of drinking a toxin absorber five times a day, hence the reason I am not hungry and then taking a few digestive tablets before heading off to bed. You can also drink as many organic fruit or vegetable juices as you want and having a vegetable broth, both of which I haven’t really needed. Physically I feel fine and still have quite a lot of energy.
I will update on my progress as the detox gets further along.

First part was the five-day fast, which actually was way easier than I expected it to be! I have a friend who introduced me to this brand after she did the five-dayer and she also thought it was pretty easy, considering the fact that you aren't actually eating food... You are drinking a combination of physillium husk and clay five times a day, which keeps the hunger pains away.
Second part was the parasite cleanse, during this phase you are eating (but best to stick to a vegetarian diet - raw is even better!). This part was ok, I had a few days where I was feeling a little bit sick in my stomach, which I think is understandable with the amount of tables you are taking during the days.
Third part (week) was kidney, liver, gallbladder - this is similar to the second week in terms of how to do this. Again, eating a vegetarian diet is best and taking a lot of supplements in way of tablets and liquid three times a day. I got a small cold during this section and my skin got pretty bad with small pimples all over my face (which is a result of the toxins moving around and trying to get out - I thought it was pretty funny how the liver/kidney would have the most toxins in them, but I do live in Shanghai and drinking is a huge part of life over here!). I started to feel really good at around day five during this part with loads of energy and general well-being. Also, my mood at the beginning of the week was pretty terrible (sorry to my boyfriend who had to put up with me!), but by the end of the week I was on top of the world.
I am now up to the fourth and final part, which is skin, lymph and blood. Unfortunately, I got another cold (not sure if it is due to the detox or the weather, but I think it may be the detox because the colds I am getting are on a very speedy timetable! The schedule for this one was 6pm throat started hurting, by 9pm throat was extremely sore and I thought I was getting tonsillitis and then by the morning I was in what felt like the last part of the cold the recovery stage and throat wasn't hurting anymore! According, to the laws of detoxing during the process you can get old sicknesses/injuries that are in your system - and I used to get tonsillitis all the time!
All in all it hasn't been too traumatic for me, because I am already a vegetarian and a very healthy person. I would love to hear about someone who is pretty unhealthy doing it and see what the process is like for them.
As for getting the product I ordered it online and got it shipped to Australia, because I heading there for CNY, but I would think it should be possible to get it shipped directly to China. Maybe if you sent the company an email asking them they would let you know - they seemed to be pretty nice/helpful about the whole thing when I ordered. I do plan to do this once a year from now on, so it would be good to know if they do ship directly here - what would be better would be finding someone in Shanghai who imports the product, because the shipping can be pretty pricey! Saying that though if you order the 21-day detox you get the colon one for free, which means that pays for the shipping.
I know about the salt water and the effects - drank that in Thailan for a liver cleanse and it definitely doesn't stop anywhere on the way through!
i loved not eating for ten days, mostly because it was a mind control thing and it felt good to be so distanced from thinking about my next meal all the time.
it was much easier than i had expected. after the experience was over i swore i'd do it twice a year, but i've yet to do it again. after your post, julia, i'm thinking i may start again.
