About Shanghai Dolls

Shanghai Dolls is a group where women can get-together and make some new friends and catch up with some old ones. This group is a platform that is friendly to all newcomers and is a great way to partake in activities that you normally wouldn’t get a chance to do alone. Shanghai is a city that never sleeps and is a fantastic city, but sometimes it is hard to make friends in this diverse city.

how it works?

Once you sign up for the mailing list we will send you an email before each our events and you will have access to the full website, including the galleries and forum. You will also be able to add your own content to the website to keep it up-to-date and active with as much useful information as possible.

what we do?

Usually there are a couple of events per month, which vary from dinners, brunches, cooking classes, art classes, ballet, etc… The list goes on and on. We love when members make suggestions for events or post their own. So keep the suggestions coming!

who are the Shanghai Dolls?

We have members from all over the world, which helps to create a very diversified group helping to keep the events interesting. We have people who have just arrived to people who have been in Shanghai for almost ten years! Our members are career women, trailing spouses, students and any other category you can think of.

Shanghai can be a daunting place to go out and try to make new friends. The Shanghai Dolls was originally created to ease this burden and to help newbie’s to Shanghai with making friends and to also provide useful answers to those questions that may be obvious once you have lived here for a while, but are completely unknown to people who have just arrived. So if you are new to Shanghai or have lived here for years and want to increase your social network then the Shanghai Dolls are for you.

where to from here?

The original purpose of the Shanghai Dolls was the make friends and share some useful information, but it has grown to anything beyond our expectations so we will be introducing discounts for members at various stores around town. By becoming a member of the Shanghai Dolls you will be eligible for any discounts and specials that our partners offer.
