We haven't done a sunday brunch for quite some time and the weather is now ripe for it.
Cotton's is an old Shanghai favorite:
This beautifully converted historic villa is the perfect place to meet friends for an after-work drink. The big outdoor garden is one of the most relaxing spots in town during the summer months and the indoor fires are great for warming up during the winter. Good food makes it a place to lounge all day.
They offer a good brunch deal on the weekend:
Two mimosas or two Carlsberg drafts, plus a choice off the brunch menu (The Super Swiss -- 2 eggs, a grilled sausage, a slice of fried ham, hashbrowns and toast; The Amazing American -- 2 eggs, 2 sausages or bacon, 2 silver dollar choc chip pancakes, hashbrowns; The Great Greek -- feta & oregano scrambled eggs, 2 lamb patties, olive tapenade, toast, feta cheese, and a greek salad; etc, etc.) for 99rmb. Trade out the booze for unlimited coffee or tea and it's only 75rmb. 11am-4pm.
Please register for the event by 5pm Saturday afternoon so I can make the booking. Cheers.
Organized by Sofie
Cotton's chilled-out villa atmosphere is also the place to go if you're not used to Chinese food and don't plan on becoming acclimated. They've done a good job of creating a pretty spot deep within the French Concession where foreigners can feel like they are in Any City. The outdoor dining area recently became a covered patio.
Happy hour: Mon - Thu, 4 - 8pm (buy 1 drink get 1 free)
